ECTA Scholarship Program

For many years, the Evanston Community Tennis Association (ECTA) annually awarded two $500 scholarships to Evanston Township High School (ETHS) tennis team members—one to a senior boy and one to a senior girl—who have demonstrated excellence to their team, in their school and in their community. Excellence was measured by a combination of athletics, leadership, academics and community service.

While this program is currently on hiatus, the details from past awards can still be found below.

Applicants must be current registered students in good standing at ETHS, be a member of the boy’s varsity tennis team, be a high school senior, plan to attend an accredited college or university and submit a completed application packet. Qualified students are asked to submit a short application and a typed essay of 450-500 words explaining how their involvement in tennis has impacted their life. Also required is a completed recommendation (in the form attached) from the senior’s tennis coach, a high school faculty member or other third party.
